A Whirlwind Start to November: Supporting Local and Sharing Stories

This month has been a whirlwind—a perfect mix of work and personal time. It kicked off with my favourite tradition: the local artisan weekend. It’s my go-to for supporting small businesses, discovering unique treasures, and, of course, making memories with a good friend.

We started the day right—with breakfast at Mama’s Kitchen in Trenton. If you haven’t been, let me tell you, this place knows how to fuel you up! From the cozy atmosphere to the delicious food, it was the perfect launch pad for a busy day ahead.

Our first stop was a hidden gem: The Homestead. I’d never been before, but this charming space was all about rebranding and renewal—a theme that resonated with me as I’ve been refreshing my own business lately. The owner shared heartfelt stories about her journey and her decision to collaborate with other local women, turning her space into a haven for handmade goods. It was inspiring to see her passion come to life! My first purchase of the day? A handmade car coat for my daughter, affectionately nicknamed Breezy (thank you, my friend, for that one).

Between sips of coffee and bursts of laughter, we shared road trip memories and swapped recommendations for must-visit spots.

True to my motto, “All roads lead somewhere,” we made a delightful detour to Bent Barn—an eclectic little shop filled with treasures waiting to be discovered. I snagged a stylish new wallet, and let’s just say, figuring out how to get back there is officially on my to-do list.

The day rolled on with a stop at the bustling Wellington Community Centre, where every corner offered something new: jams, chocolates, ceramics, leather goods, and the kind of all-natural products that make you feel like you’re doing something good for your soul. It’s a must-visit for anyone who loves variety and craftsmanship.

Finally, the day wouldn’t have been complete without a stop at one of this year’s favourites: Rosehall Run Winery. Their wines were as vibrant and memorable as the day itself—rich, smooth, and a little bit indulgent, just like the moments we spent sipping and savouring.

And that’s where I’ll leave this story for now. A weekend of fun, friendship, and a reminder that supporting local isn’t just about what you buy—it’s about the connections you make along the way.

Here’s to more weekends like this one! 🍷✨
